Mendip 2 Yeovil & Sherborne Ladies 2
Hard fought game against Mendip where Y & S took an early 2 goal lead through Barter and Coles. However a lack of understanding through the team led to the home side getting back in to the game and scoring 2 goals to level the game at the end of play. Its not often that the team have an off day but this was one of them. The result keeps the ladies top of the league but makes the rest of the season a real challenge.

Old Bristolians 0 v Yeovil and Sherborne Ladies 3
With the previous day not being a good one the Yeovil table topping side went in to their 4th game in 9 days knowing that they had to up the pace and find the form that eluded them at Mendip. A warm up that has affected the ozone layer prepared the ladies for a game that is to shape the remainder of the season. Old Bristolians looked bright at the start and tried to catch the sprightly 'Nuts' Newton off guard at the back with a quick break. Yeovil however stood resolute with the ever youthful Shayler and Barter always on hand to help out and play some creative balls in to the spaces being created by the movement of Watson, Pearce, Parsons, Coles, Troughton, Walters, Big Ted, Jemima ... you get the picture !!
Yeovil were a little slow to get going but with Watson leading from the front they soon found the openings and a series of penalty corners were awarded. Walters made a hash of the first and the ball limped towards the top of the penalty area where Barter had little options. The second however was a great injection where Barter despatched the ball for the keeper to save and Walters to hammer !!!!! it over the line.
The first goal was followed by a passage of great flowing hockey with the introduction of Lanfear and King adding a new dimension to the game and Parsons as usual always troubling the home defence.
Lanfear took advantage of the play and was on hand to slot home the second Yeovil goal.
Yeovil entered the second half determined to increase the score line and had 3 shots not hit the same post the score would have been even greater. As it was the 3rd goal came from a pre planned penalty corner routine (?) where Parsons recieved the ball and fired home a stunning shot.
This was a superb result and a great TEAM performance.
Well done Ladies.
