I write with some personal sadness that the club has now withdrawn the mens 1st team from Premier Division 3.
This decision was based on the following:
Over 37 players used this season.
Only one player who has played every game.
Continuing disruption to other teams in the club.
Only 8 players available for our game away at Cardiff with further trips to Hereford and Torbay to come.
Threat of sanctions by the league against the club and all sides affecting all teams for failure to provide competitive sides
May I take this opportunity to thank the following for their support - Olly Wilson, Lee Turner, Si Williams, Josh Clarke and Josh Brooker who have been the backbone of the side week in week out this season.
May I also thank Keith Walters Club Chairman, Mark Griffin Club Captain and Paul Guest for their support and guidance in a situation that proved particularly testing.
May I also thank the league and Alison Cook in particular for her support for us and sympathy.
May I make it clear that I support this decision in full and further ask all members to question whether they have given their full support to providing elite hockey in the Yeovil area either through availability, commitment to training and support of the club in general.
I urge all those to attend the EGM at Yeovil Town Football club on the 22nd Febuary so that we may find a path through our current crisis and rise stronger and united for it.
A sad day.
