New 2009 Self-Pass and Free-Hit Interpretation
The document below has been compiled by our Umpire Co-ordinator, Bill Bibby, with his comments, as follows:
"I have attached my interpretations of the new rules, as seen from an umpires perspective. I hope that it is fairly self explanatory. I am quite sure that these will be updated as the season goes on, and umpires find their feet. All YSHC clubs umpires have received these notes, so I hope that when you play at home there will be a fairly consistent approach to the decisions given by our umpires. Of course I can't ensure that away umpires will follow the same guidelines, even though these are in line with the West Umpires Associations."
